I wanted flatware that's simple yet elegant -- this is it. I love the subtly curved design, the weight and the balance. Nice to hold and beautifully made, like jewelry for my table. Be aware though that the size of this set is truly XL -- the dinner fork and tablespoon seem especially large. I'm going to get a second set of eight to complete my set.

First, we identified Gourmet Settings as quality flatware. Then, my new sister-in-law selected Alto as her favorite pattern after viewing the web site. As a family gift, we ordered a 24 place settings. She absolutely loves it (particularly the forks) - simple but beautiful design and high quality. We received the order a day after notification of shipping

I like my new flatware very much. I was surprised by how much bigger than life the place settings and most serving pieces seemed to be in comparison to what I am used to, and how much smaller than life the sugar spoon and butter knife are. The set doesn't fit in the silverware box I stored the set it is replacing, but I rearranged drawers to give this set its own space. The handles are heavy enough that I tend to drop the flatware off plates when clearing the table, but I will learn to avoid that. I haven't found round soup spoons to match
